The Training Messenger is born out of the initiative of Maren Borkert realized together with Carla De Tona, both members of HERMES, themselves early stage researchers, who have experienced first-hand the need of practical links between institutions and researchers.

Maren Borkert has recently finished writing her Ph.D. about the multilevel governance of Italian integration policy and its implementation in local realities of the Emilia-Romagna. She is interested in processes of migration/integration policy formulation and policy implementation, the formation of an European science and life context, and the triangulation of qualitative and quantitative methods, as well as the development of ICTs.

 I am finishing my PhD on Italian migrant women in Ireland, in the department of Sociology at Trinity College Dublin. My research interests are in identity and migration, gendered meanings of migration,  Italian emigration, narratives and memories. I am also researching on global networks of migrant women in Ireland in the Institute for International Integration Studies.  
I am glad  Maren asked me to collaborate in this project. I really believe it has good potentials. This is the first website I  built and I had  fun doing it (maybe also because at this stage of my PhD, anything seems better than a PhD! :) I hope you will enjoy it too.
